Founder of Dragon Tang Soo Do - Master David Perks

Master Perks started practising the Martial Art of Tang Soo Do in 1981 at the age of 35 under the tuition of Master Kim Tong Mun. After achieving his 1st Dan in 1985 from the International Tang Soo Do Federation, Master Perks was left to manage the only Tang Soo Do club in Bristol (Filton Club). This transpired due to Master Kim moving to America. Since then Tang Soo Do in Bristol has gone from strength to strength, producing many other Instructors and clubs.

Master Perks received his international rank of 4th Degree Master by Grandmaster J. C Shin, President of World Tang Soo Do Association, at the 1996 World Championships held in Las Vegas.

Master Perks now currently holds the international rank of 5th Dan, which he received in 2002.

Master Perks single piece of advice to anyone contemplating starting is:- Believe in yourself! - I did it when I started at the age of 35, and now, I still believe in myself! If you can do it, go out and do it, and I'll give you all the help and support you need. YOU CAN DO IT!!

Master Perks main fields of expertise are, the continual development of all practitioners (including himself), forms (Hyungs/Kata's), weapons, self-defence, breaking techniques, physical fitness and getting the very best out of all who practice Tang Soo Do.
