Meet Zara Phythian

We are honoured to have Zara Phythian dropping in on our Open Championships to be held at Thornbury Leisure Centre, on Saturday 4th October.
If you don’t know who she is, I’m sure you will very soon! I’ve been told she will be performing a demonstration for us…

She is a very talented lady. A Martial Artist and screen fighter, Zara is also a 13x World Martial Arts Champion. There is a lot more to her than meets the eye, not only has she a list of films to her credit: Underground; Furor; Tough Justice; Legion of fire; she has attained 3rd Dan- Tae Kwon Do(ITF/WTF):3rd Dan Sport kick Boxing; 3rd Dan San Ryu Do; 2nd Dan Shotokan Karate; Black Sash – Yi Tsung Shaolin Wu Shu.

In 2006 she was presented with the IKK Hall of fame, the first British Martial Artist to receive this prestigious award. What makes this award special is that she joins the inductee list like Bruce Lee, Chuck Norris, and the founder of American Karate ed Parker.

In 2007 Zara opened her own School in Nottingham, teaching total combat fight systems, with a good physical work out, and realistic protection training, using stand up, ground work, and weapons combat. On top of all this, Zara divides her time between teaching and acting/ screen fighting- with plans to continue developing as a producer and fight choreographer.

ZARA WILL BE CONDUCTING A SPECIAL SEMINAR TO BE HELD AT PATCHWAY COMMUNITY CENTRE ON SUNDAY 5TH OCTOBER.
