The great thing about bowling is no matter whom you're with, you cheer when you do well, and laugh when you don't! It's a great way to spend time relaxing with friends. It really doesn't matter if you win or lose - It's all about enjoying yourself, and having fun. Well that's what it says on the brochure… whoever wrote that doesn't know the competitive spirit of these guys!
Saturdays are normally very busy, so we were lucky to have pre-booked, arriving at 10.30am for an 11am start, which was just as well considering the amount of shoes we needed to change! It was an impressive turn out of about 75 people, with the minimum of 10 persons per club bowling, meant we took over 14 of the 26 lanes available. Those that didn't take part came along and gave some abuse... I mean "gave some support to their team” There's nothing wrong with a bit of friendly banter and rivalry, especially when your team are winning!

Take a look at the photo's to see some of the “unique" bowling styles. I'm sure that elephants careering at speed would have left less of a dent in the bowling alley! Some of the attempts reminded me of "The dam-busters" where the bouncing bomb goes flying off in the air after hitting the water. Enthusiastic would just about cover it!
After about 2 hours of bowling it was time to hit “The Venue" and find somewhere to eat. With about 8 different food choices on offer just outside the door we decided it best to go our separate ways rather than cause havoc and chaos at one restaurant. I think every one enjoyed themselves? Keep a look out lor the next venture ... .to be held in April.
For the more competitive amongst you - here are the scores on the doors! (For our part "The Stokers" Champion was our youngest competitor - Charlotte Powell who beat the rest of us with a with a score of 102, and she's onlv 2 years old!). Coming in 3rd place was Luke (lane 19) with a score of 147, in second place with a score of 158 was Mark (lane 24) and our winner with a score of 166 was Spud (lane 23). Congratulations!!!!
