1st Dan – 2025

Steve Hoydan started training with Master White in 2003 at the age of 16. Originally this was just an extra training opportunity to supplement his training in Shotokan Karate whilst he prepared to take his 3rd Dan.  Hhowever, life happened and Steve soon stopped training in both Martial Arts. For a number of years he started and stopped training achieving the odd Gup grade here and there but was unable to give it the commitment it required due to starting a family and juggling his career. 

In 2023, after a full 9 year break, Steve was able to return to training. He picked up where he left off as a 2nd Gup and committed himself to regular training solely in Tang Soo Do.  In late 2025 finally achieved his 1st Dan. 

Steve continues to train with Master White and is now keen to pass on his knowledge of Traditional Karate to the next generation of martial artists.

Steve believes that the key to success in life is Discipline, Self-Drive and Initiative - these are just some of the core values that will be taught at Henbury Dojang.
